History of Bounce Gymnastics
Bounce Gymnastics was started in 2005 by Belinda Turner. Belinda built this gymnastics club from the ground up starting with 5 gymnasts in a small unit in Gilba Road, Girraween, New South Wales. Belinda later moved to larger premises in Magowar Road - where the gym remained until July 2019 when it moved into bigger better premises at 91B Mandoon Road, Girraween, under Michelle's ownership.
Belinda built the gymnastics club into a very competitive club having gymnasts compete and place at National Level.
In January, 2014 Belinda sold the club to her sister-in-law Michelle. Belinda felt the need to spend more time with her young family. Belinda remained at the club as the coach of the higher level girls - Levels 7 NDP & up for a further 2 years. Her knowledge was invaluable and Michelle learnt much from her over those years.
Michelle brings a fresh approach to the gymnastics club, although nothing much has changed. She is now coaching our Levels 4 & over competitive gymnasts. She has built on Belinda's success and the club has grown over the years.
More of Bounce today & in the future
Michelle is building on Belinda's original vision of having a successful gymnastics club that provides a fun and safe environment where children from all backgrounds and all ages can learn the discipline of gymnastics with fully qualified coaches. The older gymnasts are offered the chance to become junior coaches, learning the skills required to run their own classes. When old enough, they can then do their coaching courses to become qualified coaches & judges.
Extra classes have been added to accommodate the demand and Michelle is trying to expand the gymnastics club to become a multi-purpose facility.
Holiday clinics will be run in all school holidays where children do gymnastics and play games from 9am to 3pm. A lot of first time gymnasts attend the holiday clinics and some of those have now joined the Bounce family. Bookings are essential.
Our class sizes are capped at 10 children per coach, to ensure the best supervision and space for skill growth of the gymnast.
