Classes for school aged children

Recreation
Recreational programs are for children who are interested in gymnastics as a way to engage with their friends, overcome physical challenges and learn some new skills along the way. Recreational gymnastics programs can be taken up by children who at least attend primary school. During these classes children will learn basic skills and skill progressions for skills such as forward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, swinging, jumping and balance. All new children start in this group. We focus  on the fundamental movement patterns that will help kids to then progress into more advanced skills and activities.

Our classes teach foundational skills, with each timeslot including three 15 minute circuits covering Beam, Floor, Vault/Mini Tramp/Foam Pit, Bars and Trampoline. Our programs are fun and engaging, and are taught through games, stations and circuits.

Colour Graded Classes

Bounce Gymnastics has 12 grades in our recreation program that are categorized into colours. Children will work within the skill set of that colour for the term and must attend the Grading day to move up in skill sets. We have our different Graded recreation classes that progress into Advanced recreation classes. All gymnasts must start in the appropriate group for their age and then will move based on ability once they have attended the

Advanced Graded Classes

Our Advanced classes are not available for new members. Children must be assessed to be competent to pass the first 6 colours before moving into the higher colour in our grading system. These classes run for 1.5 hours depending on what graded colour the children are up to.

Grading Sessions

Grading Sessions are run each term around weeks 2-3 & 8-9. This is a great way to get some feedback on a child's progress as well as if they are ready to move up into the next colour range.  Each grading sessions is a one on one 10-15 minutes with a senior coach to assess the quality of each of the skills the child has been learning in class.

Tumbling and Trampolining Classes - Beginner and Advanced

These classes are designed for children of all abilities to work on and towards tumbling and trampolining skills. This is a great class for cheerleader and dancers who wish to work on improving their tumbling skills for their dance routines

Ninja/Free-G Classes

A mix of gymnastics, parkour and ninja style training to enhance strength, spatial awareness and coordination. This a brand new class for the end of 2023 and beginning of 2024.
