End of Year Competiton

​​Date: 10th December, 2023

What to wear: Active wear. Tight fitting clothing that is of stretchy material. Items such as T-shirt, singlet, shorts or leggings. No jeans, stockings or loose clothing. NO JEWLLERY TO BE WORN. HAIR MUST BE TIED UP AND NEAT.

How the session will run: Children will get signed in at the front desk. At the time of their session time the children will be allowed in past the gate with the coach. Warm up will be 10 minutes, 10 minutes allowed to organize the children into their groups, then they will move through each of the 4 rotations (floor, vault, beam, bars) will be 20-25 minutes long. The presentation ceremony will be the final activity before the children are all let go. The is where the children come back to the floor to receive their placing certificates based on their performance.

What the children will receive: Each child will receive a certificate and a medal and certificate for taking part in the event. They will also receive placing certificates based on their performance 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. Dependent on the number of students in each grade and timeslot

What to bring: Drink bottle

Please try to ensure you are only taking videos/videos of your child throughout the event.

 

Flash photography is not allowed during the competition portion as this can be dangerous if it flashes in a child's eye. If seen you will be reminded and if it continues you may be asked to leave as our priority is the child's safety.

 

Video is allowed throughout the competition.

Photos with Flash are only allowed during the presentation.

Cost per child: $35

All payments for the day will be done through TryBooking to ensure payment at the time of booking. Refunds for the $35 will only be given up to 48 hours before the event (The extras fees from TryBooking will not be refunded). This is because otherwise we will have made up all of the judging sheets, certificates and score cards for the day. Cancellations made with 48 hours of the event or a no show on the day will not be eligible for a refund. Bookings can be made at the desk face-to-face, though will require a payment at the time of booking.

White, Silver, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Purple

10am + 12:30pm + 3pm

CANTEEN:

We will also be running the canteen with drinks and other fun snacks:

Lollies, Ice blocks, Ice creams, coffee, Hot chocolate,

Toasties, Bake sale, Chicken nuggets & potato gems

**If parents would like to donate any treats that we could sell to help raise funds for the gym would be amazing and much appreciated**

Things you need to know

  • **I Understand that my child should wear appropriate clothing such as: Active wear. Tight fitting clothing that is of stretchy material. Items such as T-shirt, singlet, shorts, leotard, crop top or leggings. 

  • **I Understand that my child should not wear: No jeans, stockings or loose clothing as they are unsuitable for gymnastics

  • **I Understand that NO JEWLLERY TO BE WORN and any that is worn will need to be removed or the child will not be able to compete in the competition. This is a safety issue.

  • **I Understand that all HAIR MUST BE TIED UP AND NEAT to the best of my ability. If hair is not tied up and should be the child will not be able to compete in the competition. This is a safety issue.

  • ​**I Understand that not all children will get places for their routines and I will show respect for the process. I will not question staff as to why my child did not place. I understand that the judges are fair and will judge what they see.

  • **I Understand that each child all children will have one practice of each of their skills. Then all children have one attempt of their skills for the judge to score. This is the nature of gymnastics competitions, if they do not do their best, they will not get a second attempt.
     

White/Silver Skills

Vault:

  • Jump from box to mini tramp - straight jump onto crash-mat

Beam:

  • Stand onto beam from box

  • 4 steps sideways

  • 4 steps forward

  • Releve hold

  • Side bunny hop dismount

Bars:

  • Chair hang

  • Bent knee swing

  • Tuck hang

  • Front support hold

Floor:

  • 3 rock and rolls to stand

  • Straight jump

  • 4 bear walks

  • Tuck jump

  • 3 bunny hops

Orange/Yellow Skills

Vault:

  • Run, hurdle straight jump from board onto crash-mat

Beam:

  • Mount - From straddle sit, tuck feet, lift to squat and stand

  • 4 ice cream scoops

  • Straight jump

  • 4 backward steps

  • Straight jump dismount facing off the side of the beam

Bars:

  • 2 bent knee swings

  • Chin up hold with hands under

  • 3 front support leg beats

  • L hang

Floor:

  • Tuck handstand

  • 2 straight leg hops

  • Forward roll

  • 1/2 turn on 2 feet

  • 1/2 handstand

Blue/Purple Skills

Vault:

  • Run, hurdle straight jump from board to 60cm box

Beam:

  • Mount - From straddle sit, swing to squat

  • 2 attitude steps

  • Straight jump, straight jump series

  • 1/2 turn on 2 feet

  • Walk to the end of the beam, step together and straight jump dismount onto crash-mat

Bars:

  • From holding the bar, glide swing

  • Jump to front support

  • Cast

  • Forward roll

Floor:

  • Handstand to lunge

  • 3 to 4 steps into split leap

  • 1/2 turn on 1 foot

  • Cartwheel to lunge

  • Bridge

Coral Squads

Vault

  • Kick to Handstand, Flatback to 1 Crashmat

  • Run, hurdle to board, Straight jump to 1 Crashmat

Beam

  • Mount - Jump to front support on side of beam, lift leg over to straddle sit, Lift to bent knee straddle hold, return to straddle sit, tuck feet behind onto beam, lift to squat and stand

  • 2x Ice cream scoops to 45 below horizontal

  • Straight Jump

  • 4 backward steps - straight legs

  • 1/2 turn on 2 feet

  • 4 releve walks

Bars

  • 2x tuck swings with regrip

  • Chin up pullover (Can have assistance to get over the bar.)

  • Casts - Hips to leave bar

  • Forward roll to tuck hang

  • On high bar - Long hang in Arch shape

Floor

  • Forward roll to stand

  • 2x passe steps

  • Handstand to lunge

  • 2x step kicks

  • Backward roll to Angry Cat

  • Slide to lay out stretched, roll over as 1

  • Bridge hold - 3 sec minimum
